These two courses are two separate courses designed for the needs of electricians/engineers etc.
The 2391-50 is aimed at Domestic installers who only require the Initial verification part of the Inspection and testing process. The examinable part of the course consists of a 40 question 80 min open book multiple choice test, a practical assessment and a short four question written exam paper.
The 2391-51 is aimed at apprentices who are completing there Level 3 NVQ or engineers who only require the Periodic section of the Inspection and testing process. The examinable part includes a 40 question 80 min open book multiple choice test, a visual photograph exercise to determine the severity of non compliance a four question written exam and a practical assessment.
This City and Guilds 2391-50 & 51 courses are not designed to teach Inspection & Testing but builds on existing knowledge and requires a good knowledge of the wiring regulations. Entry for the course requires either a JIB or ECS card indicating your status as an electrician.
You will require a copy of BS 7671: 2018 (Pale blue cover), Guidance Note 3 and The On-site Guide. All three examinable components must be successfully achieved before the certificate is awarded.
